The word "giclée", is derived from the French. A Giclee printer was first developed many years ago. It was called IRIS. This printer provided for the printing of fine art originals right onto canvas. This highly specialized process is very labor intensive and time consuming, usually one to two hours for each piece. The end result however, was worth the time. When done under the watchful eye of a skilled technician and the originating artist, a beautiful and accurate print could be created. Today this digital process, and the hardware and software technology have been greatly refined. Although the time and skill factors have not changed, the printers used for the Giclee making process have become more accurate and produce a truly authentic print. Giclees can be produced on a variety of media such as Canvas, Watercolor Paper, etc., using archival quality inks that are truly lasting, unlike some prints where colors can fade due to exposure to light. The Artworks shown on this site by Artist Linda J Soroka, will be and are in production to High Quality "Giclee Prints" on canvas, in Limited Edition, hand signed and numbered. Each print will come with a Certificate of Authenticity". Click here to see which artworks are now avaliable in these Limited Edition Prints.
